Care and Warranty
Looking after your gear
Your bag is made to be worked hard. A few minutes of care makes it last years longer.
PVC bags: tool bags, tech bags, cooler bags, travel bags, rolls and pouches
Cleaning
Wipe the outside with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Rinse and wipe dry. That's it. The PVC is designed to be wiped clean, so nothing harsh is needed.
Do not machine wash, tumble dry, dry clean, or use solvents, bleach or degreaser. They break down the coating and the stitching.
Sun
Keep it out of prolonged direct sun where you can. UV is the one thing that will age PVC faster than the work will. A bag that lives on an open ute tray through a Pilbara summer will chalk and stiffen long before one that lives in the cab or a toolbox. Not a defect, just physics.
Drying
If it gets soaked, empty it, open every zip and let it air dry out of direct sun. Do not put it away damp. Mould is the fastest way to ruin a bag and it isn't covered by warranty.
Zips
Grit is what kills a zip, not use. Brush dust and sand out of the teeth now and then, especially after a dusty site. If a zip is stiff, clean it before you force it. A pencil rubbed along the teeth or a dry silicone lubricant helps. Never oil or grease a zip, it holds dust.
Do a zip up before you pick the bag up loaded. Dragging a half-closed bag by the handles is what pulls sliders off track.
Loading
Don't overload past what closes comfortably. Bulging a bag puts the load on the zip rather than the base, and that's where failures start.
Storage
Store it dry, empty of anything that can leak, and out of the sun.
Insulated cooler bags
Everything above, plus:
Wipe the inside out after every use. Food residue and moisture in an insulated lining is how bags start to smell.
Don't put hot food or drink straight into an insulated bag. Let it cool first.
Don't use it as a seat or a step. The foam insulation crushes and doesn't come back.
Canvas — leg gaiters and over boot covers
Brush off dirt and dust when dry. Sponge with cold water and a mild detergent. Rinse and air dry away from direct heat.
Do not machine wash, tumble dry or iron. Do not use fabric softener, it clogs the weave and reduces water resistance.
Drinkware
Hand wash in warm soapy water. Do not put vacuum insulated bottles or mugs in a dishwasher — heat and pressure can damage the vacuum seal, and once that goes the insulation stops working.
Not for freezer or microwave use.
For stubborn coffee staining, warm water with a spoon of bicarb soda left to sit will lift it.
Warranty
2 years on every product. 12 months on zips.
Effective 1 September 2026.
Bought before 1 September 2026? Your original 3 year warranty still applies. Nothing changes for you.
What's covered
Manufacturing faults. Stitching that comes away, hardware that fails, a zip that fails under normal use, delamination of the material.
We assess claims on the physical evidence rather than what we assume happened, and we lean toward approving borderline cases. If it looks like a fault, it probably is.
What isn't covered
Normal wear and tear. Scuffs, fading and general ageing from use and sun exposure.
Damage from misuse or accident. Overloading, cuts, burns, chemical damage, being run over, being used as a step.
Mould or odour from being stored damp.
Modifications or repairs done by anyone other than us.
Products bought as factory seconds are sold with known cosmetic imperfections, and those imperfections aren't a warranty fault.
How to make a claim
Email info@legiongear.com.au with:
- Your order number or proof of purchase
- Photos of the fault, and one photo of the whole product
- The batch code from the label inside the bag
- A short description of what happened
The batch code is the fastest way for us to identify exactly which production run your bag came from, which usually tells us straight away whether it's a known issue.
If your bag doesn't have a batch code, just tell us roughly when you bought it
We'll come back to you within two business days.
Australian Consumer Law
